DON’T BE EMBARRASSED TO GET A SECOND OPINION

Have you ever gone to a restaurant and not liked anything on the menu but ordered anyway?  Sometimes that happens when you visit a Bankruptcy Attorney.  You might not like what’s on the menu, but you don’t want to make a scene by walking out without ordering.  I understand that most of the people who need my services don’t want to be in my office.  Filing for Bankruptcy is a difficult decision to reach for many people.  Accordingly, they may not want to go through the trauma of meeting with more than one attorney.  Recently a couple came to my office after they had already retained and paid a national Bankruptcy Firm to file their Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.  After preparing their petition, the couple was told they did not qualify for a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and would need to file a more expensive Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.  Even though it was not pleasant, the couple sought a second opinion and as it turns out, they do qualify for the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.  While it is unlikely that they will get their money back from the National Law Firm, they will still be saving thousands of dollars with their Chapter 7.  The Bankruptcy process takes months with numerous attorney client interactions.  Making sure you have an attorney you are comfortable with and trust is worth walking out without ordering.
